Frequently Asked Questions
Appointments & Scheduling
Do I need a doctor’s referral to start physical therapy?
No! Thanks to Illinois direct access laws, you can start physical therapy without a doctor’s order.
How do I schedule my first appointment?
You can call, text, or email us. We’ll help match you with the therapist who best fits your goals.
How long are appointments?
Most sessions are 60 minutes, but the length may vary based on your individual plan of care. We also offer 90-minute sessions for patients with more complex needs or those requiring treatment for multiple areas of the body during one visit.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes, when available! Our patients can text us directly for urgent needs, and we’ll do our best to get you in quickly.
How do I contact my therapist between sessions?
You can text or email your therapist directly. We value open communication so you always feel supported.
Can I ask questions between appointments?
Absolutely. Many clients reach out between visits for reassurance or guidance — it’s part of our personalized approach.
About WholeBody
What does the name WholeBody mean?
It reflects our belief in treating the body as a whole — not just isolated parts. We focus on restoring balance and helping every person feel strong and unbroken.
How is WholeBody different from other clinics?
We’re a boutique, specialist-led clinic that provides one-on-one care every session. No being passed between therapists, no rushed visits, and no insurance limitations.
Do you work with both athletes and non-athletes?
Yes. Our specialists tailor care for every lifestyle — from weekend warriors and new moms to retirees wanting better mobility.
About WholeBody
What to Expect
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your completed forms and any relevant medical or imaging reports.
Where are you located, and is parking available?
WholeBody is located in Troy, IL, with free on-site parking right outside the clinic.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows movement. If you’re coming for running or sports rehab, bring your running shoes.
Will I have the same therapist each visit?
Yes. Continuity of care is one of the biggest differences at WholeBody — you’ll work with the same therapist from start to finish.
Is treatment just exercises?
No! Your sessions may include hands-on manual therapy, cupping, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and taping — in addition to individualized exercises designed for long-term results.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel. This helps us keep availability open for others in need.
Payment & Insurance
Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network, self-pay provider. This means we can give you the highest quality care without insurance restrictions. You’ll receive a detailed receipt if you wish to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, checks, and WholeBody gift cards.
Why don’t you bill insurance directly?
Insurance often limits how long and how frequently we can treat you and also limits the treatment options we can use. By staying out-of-network, we can give you the individualized, one-on-one care you deserve — without the red tape.

Yoga Classes
Do I need to register for yoga classes in advance?
Yes, please! You can view and reserve your class directly online HERE.
Are classes beginner-friendly?
Absolutely. We offer a range of class types for all experience levels, and our instructors provide plenty of guidance and modifications.
Can I use my gift card for yoga?
Yes! WholeBody gift cards can be used for any of our services, including yoga classes.
Pelvic Health & Specialty Care
Do I have to be postpartum to benefit from pelvic floor therapy?
Not at all! Many people benefit from pelvic health therapy at different stages of life, including pregnancy, menopause, or chronic pelvic pain.
What happens during a pelvic floor therapy session?
Sessions are private and at your comfort level. We’ll begin with a discussion of your goals, then assess posture, breathing, and core function before deciding together if internal work is appropriate.
Is pelvic floor therapy painful?
No. You’re always in control. Our therapists use gentle, evidence-based techniques focused on comfort and lasting results.
Can pelvic floor therapy help with pain or leakage?
Yes — many clients experience significant improvement in bladder control, pain with intimacy, or postpartum recovery.
How soon after childbirth can I start pelvic floor therapy?
You can usually start gentle therapy around 6 weeks postpartum, depending on your delivery and your provider’s clearance.
Is pelvic floor therapy only for women?
No — we treat both men and women for a range of pelvic floor concerns including pain, incontinence, and dysfunction.
